Before the Depression my life was well off. I had a great job with plenty of income to support and feed my family. Our lives held no worries or complaints. All that changed when the stock market crashed and I lost everything.
According to one observer, "They hollered and screamed, they clawed at one another's collars. It was like a bunch of crazy men. Dreadful memories, how they linger,
How they ever flood my soul.
How the workers and their children
Died from hunger and from cold.
Hungry fathers, wearied mothers,
Living in those dreadful shacks,
Little children cold and hungry
With no clothing on their backs.

I lost everything. Everything that I had in the bank, all of my money invested in stocks, my family whimpers in hunger as I stand in a food line to gather what little cheap food to keep us going, and all the time I suffer from the memories of our good life.
I place my trust in our leader, hoping to gain the relief that I long for. The FDIC has renewed my lost faith in our president and his New Deal Program. Jobs that I am in much need for are being made available to me. The Federal Security Act and the Security Exchange Commission provides the opportunity for me to once again invest in the stock market with more faith. My only complaint is the workings of the AAA, which has shortened our food supply. FDR is trying his best to work for the people, but we are unsure of the things that he has done. Source 3
We would like FDR and the New Deal to make us feel protected again in our new investments. We liked his help to build back to our former glory. The depression has put us in a place that we never wished to be and hopefully all of these new improvements will help us in the future, and create a safe life for me and my family.
